Melvin Joseph Hebert

He was a native of Welsh and had been a resident of Vinton for over 50 years. Melvin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton where he served as an usher. He enjoyed spending time gardening.

Survivors include his sisters, Dorothy Miller and husband, Edward of Ragley and Judy Ann Rierson and husband, Steve of Troy, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frieda Hebert.

His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Deacon Jesse Menard will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery in Welsh under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation is from 5 - 9 p.m. Monday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
