She was a native of Iola, Texas and had been a resident of Vinton since the 1950's. Nellie enjoyed crocheting, working in her garden, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Terri Shull and husband, Donald of Vinton; two grandchildren, Tiffany De'Nell Pruitt and husband, Colby, and Donovan Charles Shull; and one great-grandchild, Olivia Faith Pruitt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Aubrey Reed; her longtime companion, George Wesley Kiley; her mother, Pearl Borah; and two brothers, Elbert Purvis and Ben Purvis.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, in First Pentecostal Church of Starks. The Rev. Greg Frazier will officiate.
