

Opal was a lifelong Vinton resident, a graduate of Vinton High School and studied finance/banking at McNeese State University. She began her 37 1/2 year career with Calcasieu Marine National Bank at the Vinton branch and worked at various branches in the area before retiring as a Branch Manager. Opal enjoyed volunteer work and had been very active with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in DeRidder, the Pink Ladies of Beauregard Memorial Hospital and Welch Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved to travel and has toured most of the United States with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Marlene Broussard and husband Charles of Vinton; grandchildren, Brittney Doiron and husband Shannon, and their children, Jordan and Morgan of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; Darla Collins and husband Erick, and their children, Kiana and TJ of Vinton; Laura Oliver and husband Erik and their children, Reed Allain and Madison Oliver of Vinton; and David Broussard of Vinton; and sisters-in-law, Pearl Bujard and Janet Breaux.
She is preceded by her husband, Donald Malcome Moreland Sr.; son, Donald Malcome Moreland Jr.; parents, Loyd and Inez LeBoeuf Breaux; and brother, Henry Roy Breaux Sr.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 10, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Carlos Garcia will officiate. Interment will follow in Reed Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton Wednesday, 2-9 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. and resume Thursday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
