

Christie Smith Black, AKA “CAT Black”, 46, of Virginia Beach, passed away on July 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father Norman Lee Smith, and her father-in-law Charles Black. She left behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 19 years, Craig Black; her devoted mother Joan Wright Smith; her mother-in-law Marion “Betty” Black; her step-son Benjamin Parker Black; her nephew Jason Wright, who she thought of as her son; her grandson Leland Black; her sister Cheri Emma-Leigh; her brothers Norman “Chuck” Smith and his wife Jan, and Gordon “Chip” Wright and his wife Pam; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Christie was born on March 23, 1969 in Newport News, VA, and raised in Richmond. She moved to Virginia Beach, VA in 1993 where she met and married Craig. Christie worked for the State of VA at DMV until starting her own company 2DMV4U, where she went to the dreaded DMV for individuals and businesses. Everything revolved around family with Christie. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach VA 23462. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service.
