

David George Yarns, born on July 17, 1960, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 27, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 64. His life was a tapestry of service, dedication, and love, woven together by the many roles he embraced and the people he cherished.
David served his country with honor as a member of the United States Navy for almost six years, before being honorably discharged. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a Computer Systems Engineer, where he applied his talents and skills with diligence and commitment.
David had a deep appreciation for music and found joy in the melodies that filled his life. He was an avid movie enthusiast, with a particular fondness for "Brother Where Art Thou," a film he held dear. As the Co-Director of the Hampton Bay Days alongside his good friend, Don Butcher, he contributed to the community he loved. David also relished dining with family and friends, and he always considered time spent at the beach a true pleasure.
Preceded in death by his beloved mother, Marie Russell, brother in law, Jim Miskowski; Nephew, Chase Yarns; and sister-in-law, Tina Sherwood, David is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, LaCinda Yarns and his beloved dog, Buddy; his father, George Yarns; his brother, Chris Yarns and wife Amy; his brother-in-law, Hugh Sherwood; his sisters, Danielle Hofmann and husband Lane, and Tammy Daubert and husband Rick; and his sister-in-law, Joy Horn and husband John and many beloved nieces and nephews.
David will be remembered as a very loving and humble man, whose legacy of kindness and warmth touched all who knew him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, who will continue to celebrate the life of a remarkable man.
