Donald Lee Dilday, Sr, 77, passed away on July 30, 2018. A native of Norfolk, he was born to the late Pearl and Arthur Dilday, Sr. Don was a retired Water Treatment Specialist for the Ford Plant and later worked as a greeter for BJ’s Wholesale Club. He was a former member of Norview Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge. Don was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Jeanne Louise Dilday; companion of the last 10 years, Donna Guinn; and a brother, Arthur Brinson Dilday, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are 3 children; Debbie Riefer (Bobby) of Virginia Beach, Donna Helton (Jeff) of Virginia Beach, and Donald Dilday, Jr. of Chesapeake; sister Aileen Coggeshell (John) of Norfolk; 4 grandchildren, Alicia, Heather, James and Robert; and 3 great grandchildren, Alexis, Morgan, and Gary Jr; his extended family, Lorrie Moran and her son, Michael.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 4th, 2018 in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The family would like to send a special thank you to his caregivers Lisa and Khim for the great care given to him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
