She was predeceased by her husband, Ellis “Red” Snell. She retired from the Christian Broadcasting Network after 20 years of service as a mail clerk.
She is survived by three sons and a daughter of Chesapeake: Kenneth Snell and his wife Laura, Michael Snell and Beth, Ellis “Billy” Snell, and Theresa Basnight and her husband Donald Basnight. She is also survived by her sister Lois Boothe of Orange City Florida, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was known for her deep love of the Lord and for her family. She was a woman who continually lifted up those in need in prayer to the Lord. She instilled her passion for God to her family and never missed an opportunity to speak of God’s love to anyone that crossed her path.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Kempsville Chapel of Smith & Williams Funeral Home, in Virginia Beach. The family will receive family and friends from 12:00 – 1:00 with the celebration service starting at 1:00. Afterwards, the family will have a private graveside service.
