Helen Louise Richard

Helen (Slentz) Richard, 86, passed away on August 20, 2013 at her residence in Virginia Beach, VA. Helen was originally from Taft, CA where she was born and raised. It was there where she met her husband of 59 years James Everard Richard, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2005.

A loving wife and mother, Helen created many memories with her family she leaves behind that they will cherish forever. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

She is survived by her five children, Yvette Dyson and her husband David, Bernadette Magne and her husband Tom, James E. Richard, Jr. and his wife Judy, Tim Richard and his wife Susan and Suzette Caddell and her husband Brian; ten grandchildren, Rebecca Dyson, Jeffrey Dyson and his fiancée Tamara Urick, Jason Dyson, Bridgette Magne, Michael Magne and his wife Shannon, David Hogue, Darley Richard, Krystle Caddell, OS3 Brian “Scoty” Caddell, & Barry Caddell; eight great-grandchildren, Caitlyn & Gabriella Allen, Hunter, Corbin & Gavin Dyson, Ellie, Audrey, & Emery Magne; two brothers, Boyd Slentz and Jack Slentz and his wife Betty; a sister, Patsy Hill and her husband Virgil and several nieces and nephews as well as her faithful dog Daryn who was by her side until the end.

In accordance to her wishes there will be no memorial service held. Helen will be reunited with her husband at a graveside service to be conducted at Arlington National Cemetery, date to be determined.
