Jeannie Marie Lindstrom

Jeannie Marie Harris Lindstrom, age 94, resident of Harmony at Independence, died peacefully in her sleep at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, Virginia Beach, after a brief illness, on Monday, April 3, 2023. She was a devout Christian and is no doubt in the arms of God in Heaven.
Born in Cordova, Alabama, August 23, 1928, to Arthur and Myrtle Harris, she lived the first 20 years of her life in Alabama and then Florida where, in 1948, she met the love of her life, Harry, and they got married in September.
She lived her life in Alabama, Florida, Maryland and Virginia. She was a daughter, a sister, a Navy wife, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a switchboard operator for the telephone company, a Tupperware sales representative, a jewelry salesperson at Pembroke Mall, Virginia Beach, an Avon lady, an artist for Olan Mills, a den mother for the Cub Scouts of America, a 911 Dispatcher for the Martin County Sheriff's Office in Stuart, Florida, and a homemaker.
Jeannie was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 70 years, LCDR Harry E. Lindstrom, USN(Ret) and her first-born grandson, H. "Eddie" Lindstrom III.
She is survived by her brother, Jim Harris and his wife Mary of Newberry, Florida; Sons: H. E. "Dink" Lindstrom, Jr., PNC(AW), USN(Ret), Virginia Beach and his wife Sandy; David G. Lindstrom of Timonium, Maryland and his wife Sharon; Grandchildren: Jody Wray, Robert Lindstrom, Greg Lindstrom, Eric Lindstrom, Megan Graver; Great-grandchildren: Ally Tolson, Shane Tolson, Peyton Lindstrom, Jenna Lindstrom, Triston Lindstrom, Ethan Lindstrom, Mirra Lindstrom, Josh Lindstrom, Clay Wray, Aubree Lindstrom, Gavin Lindstrom, Izzy Lindstrom, and dozens of nieces, nephews and friends.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 to 1:30, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, 4889 Princess Anne Road at Baxter Road. Following the viewing, she will be placed into Eternal rest with her husband at the Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia at 3:00.
