Jim George Paras

Jim George Paras, 94, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2018 in Alexandria, VA with his family by his side. Mr. Paras was born in Spokane, WA. He served WWII and Korean War as Fighter Pilot, U.S. Navy; CFO Societe des Eaux, Athens Greece; and managed budget worldwide for Military Asst Groups for Secretary of Defense. He is survived by his loving wife Penelope; his three children, George and Lisa Paras of Atlanta, GA; Katherine Paras of Alexandria, VA; and Chris and Julie Paras of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren Dimitri, Alex, Alesandra, Rachel, Yanni, Nicholas and Christina; and great-grandchild, Lacey Nicole. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 1:00pm at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church by The Rev. John Manuel, 621 First Colonial Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Interment will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Donations to the building fund of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Va Beach.
