LeRoy Laverne Wassenaar, 84, passed away at his home in Norfolk on Saturday, October 19, 2019. LeRoy was born in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to the late Robert L. and Fredricka Wassenaar. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy Wassenaar; children, Michael and his wife, Judy, Mark and his wife, Teresa, Timothy and his wife, Linda and Kimberly and her husband, Ray; 2 sisters, Ruby and Juanita and 2 brothers, Jerry and Gary, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. LeRoy was born in South Dakota and remained a native of the west coast until he served in the US Navy and met the love of his life, Nancy. After his service in the US Navy he joined as a reservist in the Coast Guard. After his military service he became a repairman and carpenter by trade for the majority of his life. He loved fishing and watching the Washington Redskins in his spare time. Please share your online condolences with the family of your cherished memories of LeRoy and the life he lived.
