Leslie Curdts Smith, 76, passed away on September 10, 2021. She was born in Norfolk, VA, to the late Frederick and Leslie Curdts. She was a 1962 graduate of Granby High School and later earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Virginia Wesleyan College, where she won the General Douglas MacArthur Foundation scholarship. Leslie served as the bookkeeper at Kempsville Middle School for over 25 years. Leslie was beautiful, intelligent, gentle, and kind. Her beautiful blue eyes brightened every room she entered.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. In her spare time, she loved to go shopping with her family and going to dinner with her bridge group. Leslie was especially proud of her granddaughters. She visited them often at their home out of state, playing board games, exploring the area and creating special memories together.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of nearly 57 years, Ronald L. Smith; sons, Greg Smith and Brad Smith (Suzanne); granddaughters, Brita and Ava Smith; and sister Linda Bradley.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach 23462. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
