Obituary of Marion Ellen Felder
In the early evening on Wednesday May 11, 2022, the Lord sent his Angels down to give Marion Ellen Felder her wings. Marion Ellen Felder affectionately known as Candy, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 26, 1949 to the late Kenneth R. Squires and Marion Ellen Shular. Her mother died in childbirth and as a result Marion was raised by her maternal grandparents, Willie Mae and Henry Shular. As a teenager Marion received Divine Revelation in the form of a vision of a nun. Soon thereafter she studied and devoted her time to learning about the Catholic religion. She later took her communion and was baptized into the Catholic Faith. Marion learned how to play the piano also as a teenager and performed in many concerts in the New York area. She graduated from Erasmus Hall High School, and went on to become a New York City 911 operator. After rendering public service as an operator Marion pursued a career as a bank teller. During her tenor at Manhattan Chase Bank, she met and later married Clyde Felder Jr. During that 32-year union three beautiful children were born, Craig Lamont, Stacey Alexandria and Natasha Dawn whom she spoiled immensely. Later on, Marion went back to school and became an EKG technologist where she worked until she retired in 1992 and relocated with her family to Virginia Beach, VA. She had a beautiful, bubbly and warm personality that captivated everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, dinner parties and barbeques, where her presence was always the life of the party. Marion was a member and treasurer of the Virginia Beach Chapter National Council of Negro Women. She had a great appreciation of education which she stressed the importance of to her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of a local group that met monthly to play bonanza. She also had a passion for interior decorating, cooking huge family dinners and debating with family and friends. You could always catch her watching her two favorite shows on television Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and Judge Judy. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren especially Anthony and Brittney who lived with her, and Craig Jr. (CJ) and Kenny who stayed at her house most of the time. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure. Marion is survived by her children, Craig (Heide) Felder, Stacey (Jarod) Jones, Natasha (Craig) Mobley and her seven grandchildren, Anthony Clyde, Brittney Alexandria, Jada Abree, Tina, Christian Navarre, Craig Jr. and Kenneth Isaiah. She leaves two brothers, Steven (Sandy) Squires and Kenneth D. Squires; step-mother, Helen Squires; her Godmother, Agnes Ramsey; Three aunts, Delores Squires, Henri Garcia and Sonya Squires. She also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted friends. Rest Peacefully Mom We will love and miss you forever, and you will always be in our hearts.
