

Mary Theresa Sears-Stemple (81), of Virginia Beach, VA, on Friday, May 9, 2014, succumbed to cancer and is continuing her journey to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She peacefully departed from her home, surrounded by her loving husband Frederick of 54 years and her devoted family.
Mary was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Manuel and Mary Sears (deceased). She joins her daughter Victoria Ann Stemple-Plyler in Christ. Mary is survived by her son and family, Frederick E. Jr., wife Eleanor and three children; Frederick E. III, Isaac, and Erynn of Virginia Beach and son-in-law Carl Dixon Plyler Jr. and daughters Anna and Audrey of Seneca, SC. Mary’s survivors also include her brother Ralph and his wife Natalie of Bridgewater, MA, sister-in-laws Louise of Hempstead, NH and Helen of Taunton, MA. Her departed family includes her sister Amelia Fetherolf, and brothers Joseph, Manuel Jr., and Gerald of Cambridge, MA.
A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life Service will be held at Assembly of God Church, “Christian Chapel” on 2751 Salem Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456, on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 3:30 PM with Pastor Tom Conant, officiating. Burial with chapel services to be conducted the following Tuesday , May 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Garrett County Memorial Garden’s Chapel , 881 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD 21550, officiated by Rev. Sam Wachter of St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Oakland, MD 21550.
