

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Williamson, fondly known as Nicki, who left us peacefully on July 21, 2025, due to natural causes in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on October 11, 1932, in Craigsville, VA, Nicki was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and creativity touched the lives of everyone she met.
Nicki was the loving daughter of Daniel and Edna Sullivan, who instilled in her the values of kindness and hard work. She graduated from Norview High School, a foundation that prepared her for a life of dedication and service. Nicki was a talented office manager for Bay Drywall/Bay Homes, where her professionalism and organizational skills earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Nicki was a woman of many talents and interests. She had a passion for cooking and gardening, often sharing her culinary delights with friends and family. Her love for music and dancing was evident at every gathering where she was always the life of the party, lighting up the room with her infectious energy. Nicki had an eye for design, and her home was a testament to her aesthetic sense; she decorated it for every season with immaculate care, often leaving guests in awe of her beautiful creations. Many believed she could have easily pursued a career as an interior designer, given her flair for making spaces feel welcoming and warm.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Daniel M. Sullivan, and his wife, Yoshiko Sullivan. Nicki leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, surviving through her life partner, Clyde Bonney, who brought her immense joy and companionship. She is also mourned by her daughter, Lisa Statts, and son-in-law, Kurt Statts, along with her cherished granddaughter, Ava Williamson Statts, who was the light of her life. In addition, Nicki is survived by her nephew, Charlie Sullivan, and her nieces, Amelia Ball and her husband Joe Ball, and Sarah Bender and her husband Tim Bender.
Nicki's visitation will be held at Smith & Williams Funeral Home/Kemp, located at 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA, on Thursday, July 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of her remarkable life. A graveside service will follow on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA.
Mary Jane Williamson was a remarkable woman whose laughter, love, and light will be missed deeply. She touched the hearts of many, and her spirit will live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish. As we say goodbye, let us remember her vibrant presence and the joy she brought to our lives.
