Mildred Freeman Denson, 94, passed away in Virginia Beach on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Mildred was born in Norfolk to the late Perry and Ivie Freeman. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Herman Denson and her granddaughter, Debbie. Mildred is a member of Ingleside Baptist Church for many years before retiring to Chowan Beach, NC in 1986. She is survived by her son, Rodney Denson (Joan) of Virginia Beach; daughters, Frances Burke (Larry) of Virginia Beach and Susan Johnson of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Christie, Sherri, Amanda and Leigh; three great grandchildren, Kayla, Azya, Kaitlyn and Isla.
There will be a visitation from 6-8pm, Friday, January 15, 2016 at Smith and Williams Kempsville Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service at 11:30am, Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Keith Willyard officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
