Norman Linwood Shepard

Norman (Lin) Shepard, 84, left this world on March 10, 2021. He always said, “Getting old is not for sissies.” Credit Bette Davis. He lived a long, full life and pushed the limits to 84 years young. He was a retired telecommunications engineer with Bell Atlantic. He was a past member of the Virginia Jaycees and Rotary Club of Hampton Roads. He was predeceased by his parents, Offie Thomas and Alice Jewell Shepard.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Shepard, his three children, Lee Ann Murray (William), Marcy Pruitt, and Russell Shepard (Julia). He was a loving papa and will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren, Megan Roten (Ryan), Kelly Gressley, Kirsten Kingsley (Weston), Kyle Conroy, Russell Shepard, and Morgan Shepard; also his seven great grandchildren Owen, Adeline, Braden, Emelyn, Cole, Cash, and Crew. A special thank you is sent to Lin’s longtime, good friend, Jim.
A graveside service is planned for April 12, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., Forest Lawn, Norfolk, VA. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad would be greatly appreciated.
