Richard Eric Gallegos, 81, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024. Richard was born in Durango, Colorado to the late Pablita and Lucas Gallegos. Richard was a graduate of San Jose State College. He served his country in the US Navy. Richard was a Corporate Executive for an Industrial Tooling Company. He was an artist and craftsman. He was a devout Christian and a long-time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He volunteered serving the needy and homeless in the area. He was instrumental in organizing a trip to D.C. for the WW II veterans to see their memorial.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Richard Eric Gallegos, Jr.; beloved life partner of 27 years, Mary Henning; Mary's son and his wife Bruce and Denise Henning; 2 grandchildren Eric and Noah Gallegos; and 1 great grandson.
Richard was predeceased by his second wife Claudia Brett Gallegos and his daughter Laurale Gallegos.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Friday, July 12, 2024, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
