

Ronald Avery Booher, fondly known as Ron, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on February 22, 1945, in Bridgeport, WV, Ron lived a full life of 80 years, filled with dedication to family, work, and community.
Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. For nearly 40 years, Ron devoted his professional career to Hobart Industrial Appliances, where his hard work and leadership led him to the role of Branch Manager in 1985, a position he held with distinction until his retirement. His commitment to excellence and his ability to inspire others left a lasting impact on both colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of his career, Ron was an avid enthusiast of Fox News and had a keen interest in spending time on the computer. A proud Republican, he enjoyed spirited discussions and was always up-to-date with current affairs. Ron was a cherished member of the VFW, where he could often be found sharing stories and camaraderie with fellow veterans. His storytelling was legendary, and he captivated audiences with tales that spanned decades.
Nothing brought Ron more joy than watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was their biggest fan, attending countless games and cheering from the sidelines with pride. His family was the heart and soul of his life, and he took immense pleasure in their accomplishments and happiness.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Barbara Booher; his sisters Janet Herbrick, Margaret Reese, and Shirley Miller; his brother Eddie Donahue; his son Ronnie Booher; and his mother Mildred Donahue.
He is survived by his loving children, Sonya Booher and Michael Booher, along with Michael's wife, Aimee: and sisters Naomi Felts and Joyce Schwartz. Ron's legacy continues through his four cherished grandchildren: Layla Armstrong, Jordan Cobena, Michael O. Booher, and Landon Booher, as well as his great-grandson, Benji Cobena, who brought him immense joy and laughter.
Ronald Avery Booher will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
