He was born in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Louis Winston Anderson and Bessie Cleo Godwin Anderson. Ed proudly served in the US Army with the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper. He was honorably discharged PFC E3 (P) and continued serving his country in Civil Service as an electrical engineer at Atlantic Engineering Division at NAS Oceana. His esteemed career led him to the US NATO base in Keflavik Iceland where he finished his more than 20 years of service to the United States. Ed was also outgoing and adventurous. He enjoyed boating and creating things. He always had a project that he was working on... (making wine, adding an addition to his home or a friends, or just coming up with a better way to do … anything)
Most of all, Ed loved the Lord and his family. The Lord was important in his life and his family was very precious to him. Ed is dancing with Jesus and his family is looking forward to being with him again one day.
Mr. Anderson was part of a large and loving family and is survived by his children Lorrie and John Thurston, Pat Teager, Win and Terri Anderson, and Tom Anderson, his grandchildren, John, Jessica, Morgan, Dylan, Zach, Caitlyn, Kaleb, Elise and Bethany, his great grandchildren Kinsley, Kaelynn, Kooper, Kyleigh, Kadence, Makayla, Emberlyn, LJ, and Isabella, his brother Richard, and sister Betty.
