

Trinidad Apilan Miranda, 81, passed away peacefully June 7, 2011 in the comfort of her home.
Trining was born April 17, 1930 to the late Vicente and Pacifica Apilan in Manila, Philippines. She was a business administrator working alongside her husband Dr. Prospero Miranda. In 1979 they came to the U.S. to join their family and she continued to assist her husband at The Kempsville Primary Medical Care Center. She was an advocate for a healthy lifestyle and demonstrated that by staying active. She loved being outdoors, playing tennis, doing aerobics and gardening. Not only was she active physically but spiritually as well. Mrs. Miranda was a longtime member of The Tidewater Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was a Deaconess. Above all else, her family and church was her true love. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory is: a husband of 63 years, Dr. Prospero L. Miranda; two sons: Dr. Josue “Daniel” Miranda and wife Bernadette, David Miranda and wife Liezel; a daughter, Dr. Flordeliza M. Reynolds and husband William Reynolds Jr.; six grandchildren: Joshua Miranda and wife Seema, Danielle Castillo and husband Ryan, Robin Fulford and husband Bryan, Brian McDermott, Jackie Morton and husband Dick, and Matthew Miranda; a great-grand child, Jesse Miranda Castillo; and a niece Jocelyn Apilan Masauding.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm, Friday, June 10, 2011 at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
