Veneranda Montevirgen

On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, Veneranda "Vennie" Montevirgen, loving wife, grandmother, and mother of 6 children, passed away at age 70 in Virginia Beach, VA.
Veneranda was born on September 15, 1949 in Dasol Pangasinan, Philippines to Justiniano Batuto and Rosario Fontelera Batuto. She married Carlos Montevirgen and they raised five sons, Billy (Nora), Noel, Roel(Lisa), Edgar(Sonia), Butch(Rosalyn), and one daughter, Juliet(Frederick, Jr.). In 2001 Vennie moved to Virginia where she helped her daughter Juliet raise her granddaughters Gaby, Sierra and Isabella.
Nanay was known for her kind and compassionate spirit and her huge heart. She didn’t like to be called “Lola” because it would make her sound old so she went by “Nanay”. She was very selfless and loved to take care of her children and grandchildren, whether it’s cooking big meals even though you’re not hungry, playing games all day long, and constantly cleaning up around the house. She enjoyed watching her favorite Filipino soap operas and playing Paras Paras card game with her loved ones. She was also a dedicated member to the Jehovah Witness Church. Every year she would visit her sons and grandchildren in the Philippines to spend time with them and also look after them.
Veneranda was preceded in death her husband, Carlos and her son, Roel. She is survived by, her 5 children, her sisters Linda, Felicitas, Celita and her brothers, Romeo, Wilson, Lyndon, Pepito, and Lino and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday August 3, 2020 at the Kingdom Hall on website at 8:30 p.m. Flowers or donations may be sent to 3081 Silver Maple Dr, Virginia Beach, VA, 23452.
