Virginia Beach - Willis D. "Don" Beatty, 81, peacefully passed away July 6, 2012. He was born Jan. 1, 1931 in Thayer, MO to the late Charley and Lora Beatty. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the Navy. He developed much of the Kempsville area as a real estate broker, later owning Down Home Country Classics where his passion for building and woodworking continued.
Don leaves his wife, Loretta; daughter and grandson, Lori and Nathan Absher; son, Derek and his wife, Juliana Beatty; granddaughters, Jasmine, Ashley, and Chelsea Beatty, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Don's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wed., July 11, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home Kempsville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Haven Children's Fund. Condolences to the family can be made at www.smithandwilliamskempsville.com
