From the beginning, Anna’s life was shaped by deep family roots. She was born in 1968 to Jesus and Lucia Orozco, and she was raised in Sacramento/North Highlands, California, where she attended Highlands High School. Her faithfulness to family and the steady strength she carried through life were evident to all who knew her.
For 36 years, Anna devoted herself to her home and to motherhood, giving her days with a brave and loving constancy that made others feel safe, seen, and cared for. She was a “neighborhood mother” to many and a sports mom who adored her children and welcomed other kids with the same cherished warmth. Beloved for her steady presence, she was the kind of person whose care extended naturally beyond her own household.
Anna was married for 30 years to her spouse, Lucas E. Valverde. Together they parented three children: Sophia Maria, Lucas Santiago, and Jose Manual. Anna was a loving grandmother of seven: Alexis, Chloe, and Emry, born to Santiago and Trish Valverde; Aubry and Luke (twins), born to Jose and Ashley Valverde; and Brigston and Bruce, born to Sophia Valverde and Raymond Sullins.
Anna was preceded in death by her mother, Lucia Orozco (1986). She leaves behind her father, Jesus Orosco, and his wife, Delsy Orozco; two siblings, Neil and Lorena Orozco; and four nieces and nephews: Kendalyn Jensen-Orozco, Gabriel Valverde, and Noah and Naoemi Onjoco.
Her passion was being a mother and grandmother, and she poured herself into that calling with a devotion that never sought attention, only the good of those she loved. Anna also found joy in dancing, music, exercising, and camping—whether in the forest or on the beach. Those fortunate enough to know her will remember her constant smile and her beautiful laugh, the kind that made a room feel lighter and a hard day feel more bearable.
Anna will be remembered as a cherished, devoted mother and grandmother, and as a faithful and loving wife—beloved for her strength, her warmth, and the steady care she gave so freely.
The family would like to thank Valley Regional Hospice. The nurses, LVN's, Pastor, and staff were wonderful. With a special thank you to the Home Health Care ladies who came from VR Hospice. We couldn't have done it without you, and a special thank you to Miss Ellie.
