

Tony was born in Seoul, Korea on January 14, 1956 to Charles Kenney and Tae Im Kim Kappes. He was raised and educated in Seattle, Washington, graduating from Bullard High School in 1973. Tony entered the United States Army on November 30, 1973 and served in Frankfort, Germany, receiving his honorable discharge in 1976. He married Edna Louise Langyel in Danbury, Connecticut on January 18, 1990. They moved to Visalia in 1992 to make their home and raise their family. He worked at Kraft as a Lab Tech for over ten years. Tony enjoyed sculpting, computers, action videos and was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan. He was an excellent cook. Tony especially enjoyed debates with his sons over anything. He is lovingly remembered as an amazing husband, father and grandfather – a one of a kind man. Tony will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Tony leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Edna of Visalia; five children, Jackie and husband Chris Creason of Visalia; Thomas Antonowicz of Elderwood, Jessica Antonowicz of Visalia, Antony and wife Susan Kappes of Visalia and Maryah Alcazar Kappes of Visalia; three sisters, Deborah Cassidy and Joan Kappes, both of Seattle, WA and Frances Kappes of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren, Makayla, Martin, Frank, Tristin, Isaiah, Dominic, Christopher and Cali with two little ones on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Tae Im Kappes.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 4 – 7 pm. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church (corner of Center and Hall) in Visalia on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10 am. Burial will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, CA.
