

Bert Van Dyk, 86, of Visalia, CA went to be with his Lord on April 3, 2017. Bert was born on August 28, 1930 to John William and Nellie Van Dyk in Hull, Iowa. At the age of eight Bert's family moved to Paramount, CA where he attended school and later worked in the dairy industry. In 1946 he met the love of his life Eva Plantage. They married on Sept 14, 1949. In 1957 they moved to Chino where he continued to work in the dairy industry. He became a member of Chino Valley Reformed Church and served many terms as a deacon or elder. Bert loved to attend his grandchildren's sports games and other activities. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, gardening, and smoking his pipe. A highlight of Bert and Eva's life was the Alaskan Cruise they took with their children in 2005. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Eva, their son-in-law Jim Idsinga of Portales, NM, a son John (Betty) Van Dyk of Hanford, CA, two daughters Bernell (Joe) Buckley of Springfield, MO and Carolyn (Marty) De Jager of Merced, CA, eleven grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Joann Idsinga of Portales, NM and his sister Margaret.
A private burial will be followed by a memorial service at Visalia Christian Reformed Church 1030 S. Linwood St. Visalia, CA on Monday April 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
