Betty was born to Edward and Sylvia Alff. Her father died when she was twelve years old. Her mother, with the help of uncles and aunts, helped raise her and her siblings. Her siblings are Garland Alff (deceased) Lonnie, Ray Alff (Karen) of Buffalo, MO, Nancy A. Pulsifer (Don, deceased), of Glenwood, IA.
Betty and her first husband, Bob (deceased) had three children. Bill, Bonita (deceased) and Belinda (Danny) Point of Squaw Valley, CA. Grandchildren are Brandy (Justin) Bedo, William (Teresa) Myers, Cheyanne Myers, Michelle (Dana) Keltner, Kristin (Bobby) Cox, Dustin (Heather) Galloway, Darrin Galloway, and Devin Galloway. Brother and sister-in-laws; Duane (deceased) and Darlene Myers, Darrell and Gertraud Myers, Marcia Bourke, Dennis Myers (deceased), and Keith E. and Cindy (deceased) Gray. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Betty opened up a day care in her home and took care of numerous neighborhood and church families’ children. She was also a waitress at Sambo’s in downtown Visalia.
Betty loved to make Christmas cookies for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing progressive rummy with her grandchildren, sister, and nieces; Lana (Robert) Ruth, LeAnn (Scott) Konfrst, and Linda (Kirk, deceased) Neppl. She enjoyed pitching horseshoes at church and family reunion picnics. She played softball for church city league teams and Dix Machine shop. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble and solving crossword puzzles. Betty enjoyed playing Hand and Foot with Ed and Sandi Matheny and Jack and Terri Monger.
Betty remarried Weston R. Gray and they were married for eighteen years.
Her best friend, Linda (Dennis) Smith and their daughter, Denise (Brad) England, took great care of Betty in her declining last days.
Betty died of Malignant Mesothelioma (Asbestos), Sarcomatoid Cancer. Mr. Gray and family wish to thank the doctors and nurses that assisted Betty during her short illness. Dr. Angelina Mallari (V.M.C), Dr. Michelle Chong (U.C.S.F.), Dr. Uzair Chaudhary (Clovis Community Cancer Institute), Compassion Care Home Health, and Community Regional Medical Center hospital in Fresno, CA.
