He leaves behind his brother, Timothy Alan Wright, his sister and brother-in-law, Ginger &Jim Blachman, He so loved his niece, Kelly Reed & her husband, Daniel Reed, and their sons, Matthew Reed, Thomas Reed, and many cousins.
Bruce was an avid reader of many different genres and quite the history buff, especially anything about World War II.
He absolutely loved baseball. He could recite back in time all the statistics, especially about his favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals. He always had a great time visiting Jim and ginger in Oakland and catching a San Francisco Giants versus St. Louis game.
He forever missed his Seal Point Siamese cat named, Trooper. He enjoyed sharing many funny stories about Trooper’s antics, especially the fact that he trained Trooper to use the toilet instead of a litter box.
Bruce was a hard worker at H & R Block in Exeter as a Tax Preparer. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting people and learning more about them. He had many clients return every year for him to do their taxes.
Bruce had been in ill health for many years with emphysema and congestive obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). He was so angry at the dementia he could feel creeping ever closer. Because of it he could no longer live alone and his sister found Sierra View assisted living in Porterville. Even though he missed living on his own, he was very grateful to have his needs taken care of. He had a very nice studio apartment with housekeeping and he really liked that!
As the Dementia progressed so very quickly, a caregiver needed to be hired. Bella Rountree was a gift. She was so patient with Bruce and he relied upon her very much.
Bruce came down with severe pneumonia, pulmonary disease and dementia. He spent his final days in a skilled nursing facility with hospice care. The hospice chaplain visited with Bruce, read scripture and prayed. Bruce acccepted our Lord Jesus during one of the chaplains visits.
Bruce was called home peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2019.
