David Serna Orona

He was born in Hanford, Caifornia on May 9, 1948 to John Orona and Inez Serna Orona. David was raised and educated in Orange Cove, Calfiornia, attending Reedley High School and enjoyed playing baseball for Reedley High. He was employed as a Fork Lift Driver for over thirteen years in Dunuba at the local raisin plant. David married Sylvia Manquero on February 28, 1976 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cutler, California. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, reading, gardening and traveling. David most enjoyed vacationing with his son David and wife Liz and their children, Isaiah. Dominick and Cassandra (who was her grandpa's sweetheart).

David was an avid Oakland Raider fan and Los Angeles Dodger Fan.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of thirty eight years, Sylvia Orona of Dinuba, CA; his son David Orona and wife Liz of Dinuba, CA; two brothers, Joe Martinez and Ralph Orona, both of Orange Cove, CA; two sisters, Virginia Angulo of Orange Cove, CA and Irene Orona of Fresno, CA and his very special grandchildren, Isaiah, Dominick and Cassandra, all of Dinuba, CA and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. David will be greatly missed by his family who loved him dearly and by his many extended family and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5 - 6:30 p.m.at Saint Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Orange Cove, Californa with Recitation of Rosary following at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Mass of Christian Burial followed on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. also at the church. Burial followed at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba, California.
