Felipe was known as Grandpa Ray to us grandkids and Mundo to all the family adults and cousins. He was known to be a kind father and a loving grandfather. Grandpa Ray had a passion for fixing tools and lawnmowers. Give him his 12 pack of Budlight and he was good to go with a big ole smile on his face. Grandpa had another great passion for his lottery tickets!!! He made sure he bought his daily five tickets everyday and scratch-off tickets. He loved those bingo and crossword scratch-offs. If he bought you a ticket he always said "If you win you gotta give me half!!!!" Omg, he was hilarious but he was serious. He loved listening to music like Vincente Fernandez & His Cumbias. He always loved going to the New Year's Eve Dances to dance his heart away! And boy did he love talking to people that would stop by to chit chat. He always took pride in cleaning his yard and making sure all the trees were pruned and all the flower bushes were perfect. He always had the grass so green and beautiful. He loved when us grandkids would stop by and bring our kids. He would stop what he was doing and play with them. Even if it was just playing catch or giving them ice cream. The great grandkids alway brightened up his day. Grandpa Ray’s favorite time of the year was his birthday because that meant his Baby Brother Lucio was coming. And boy he loved that we would all get together and celebrate his birthday. He loved his sweets! Always ready for cake, cookies, and donuts!! But bring him some bananas and you were his favorite person.
Grandpa Ray will always be remembered in our hearts as our loving Grandfather and Father. We will truly miss him everyday. But we have so many blessed and awesome memories of Grandpa Ray.
