Born on August 1, 1938, in Oakland, California, Frank grew up with a boundless curiosity, a generous heart, and a sense of humor that could brighten any room. He was a steady source of love and encouragement to his family—especially to his brothers, John and Bob, who cherished his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering loyalty.
Frank had a lifelong passion for writing and storytelling, gifts he shared freely with both his family and his community. A talented athlete in his youth, he played sports throughout high school and college, passing on that same enthusiasm to his children and grandchildren, all of whom became deeply involved in school athletics. In his earlier years, Frank also found great joy in golf, often spending treasured time on the course with his brothers and children.
A man of deep faith, Frank lived with joy, purpose, and gratitude. He inspired those around him to embrace life fully, to serve others, and to hold fast to what truly matters.
Frank proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He later graduated from San José State University with a degree in journalism. During his years in San José, he became actively involved in the Chicano movement and civil rights, committing himself to justice and community advancement—work he continued after relocating to Visalia, California. Frank went on to write a weekly column for the Visalia Times Delta for nearly a decade, where his thoughtful voice reached and resonated with many.
Frank is survived by his five living children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara and second wife, Maria Elena. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Saturday, December 20th at Restoration Church located at 1144 N. Sumter Ct. The family asks that flowers in his honor be sent to Restoration Church at the address listed above by 8:30am the morning of his celebration.
