George Steward was born January 21, 1951 and passed away August 9, 2021. A memorial service to be September 4, 2021 beginning at 10:30 AM at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Avenue, Visalia 93291.
George passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer. George was an easygoing soul who loved the simple pleasures of life as he loved blessing people in any-way he could whether it is through his coaching, life lessons, and/or prayer.
George is a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Coach. George is survived by hi wife of 40 years, Marilyn Steward; his brother, Shelby Karim who resides in Chicago, Illinois; four sons, George Steward Jr., Max Steward, Michael Steward, and his godson Wesley Williams; two daughters, Pauline and Allaina Steward; nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Food 4 Less employed George for 20 years but his passion job was coaching Track and Field, in which he did for more than 30 years. Coach "Stew" formed the Visalia Wings Track Club (Summer Track Program) in 1992 and continued until 2016. Coach Stew also coached Track and Field for Redwood High School from 1996 until 2015 and Golden West High School from 2016 until 2019.
George, in his quiet loving tone, would say to all of us to honor his memory by living our lives to the fullest, filled with love, joy, peace, and service to others.
