Kay-  What an honor it has been to have you as a friend.  Your kindness, sense of humor and grace will be missed by all of the Westcotts.  Please leave your light on for us.  Until we meet, again...........lots and lots of love.

I lift up my eyes to the hills -  from where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Jesus said: Let not your hearts be troubled. In my Father's house are many rooms. I go to prepare a place for you that where I am, there you may be also. I am the way, the truth, and the life.  My peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled. For I am certain that nothing can separate us from God's love - neither death nor life, nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor heights nor depths nor anything in all creation. As with God through Jesus Christ our Lord, Nothing can separate us from Kay's love and nothing can separate our love from her.
Dear Heavenly Father, We know you see our tears and understand our sadness. We know you promise that we who weep  for our loss of Kay will be comforted and given hope for the future. God, you are not distant or uncaring, but strengthening us in our grief. Please give us your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus' name. Amen

Everyday I find more and more ways Kay influenced my daily life--from getting contacts, to Rx deodorant, Todd as my hairdresser, my Air-o-fit exerciser, to Liz Claiborne and our look-a-like earrings--because I wanted to be like Kay.  And all the memories of riding/showing our horses, our sick sense of humor, hysterical greeting cards, restaurants, shopping, gifts, margaritas...and just so much laughter!
Kay was also thoughtful & generous with her time and gifts--often while shopping we'd see something we both liked...and months later she would surprise me by giving it to me for my birthday or Xmas.
As much as I want to believe that Kay is finally at peace and pain-free...and LOVING being with dad again--I just don't think she was ready to go. Kay looked forward to being a real grandmother to Olivia and Everly, and getting to meet Ella and watching Mallory be the best mom...Kay still had hope...and she had plans.
Most importantly, Kay was SO much more than the last few years of her life--we can't let her illness define who she was. Kay was always very funny, active, talented, loving, kind and thoughtful. She liked to cook and garden, and for years she graciously took on the enormous responsibility of hosting family events and Holiday  dinners.
This is the Kay I will always remember--Kaybo I love you and miss you terribly...
