

On December 24, 2017, Lillian Cecelia Gomes of Visalia, California passed away on her 94th birthday. She was born in Tulare, California on December 24, 1923 to loving parents Anebel Perry and Mary Maria Pacheco Perry. Lillian attended Tulare area elementary schools and Tulare Union High School. On June 24, 1947 she married Tony S. Gomes at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Tulare. Tony and Lillian made their home on the family dairy in Visalia for 37 years. Tony and Lillian were faithful members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Charles Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Mary’s Church. Lillian worked on the dairy along Tony’s side and together through their efforts were successful in their four children graduating from Fresno State University. Tony passed away in 1993. Lillian also worked for Early California Foods for many years. Lillian enjoyed going to Pismo Beach and to Monterey and gardening of all kinds. Her greatest enjoyment was her eight grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lillian is survived by her four beloved children, Mary Gomes, Anthony Gomes and wife, Donna, and Susan Brown and husband Robert, all of Visalia and Edward Gomes and wife Patricia of Oakhurst, CA; two brothers Richard Perry of Visalia and Lee Perry and wife Roberta of San Diego, CA; eight loving grandchildren, Tony S. Gomes, Joseph Gomes, Edward Gomes and wife Antonella, Theresa Bollier and husband Steve, Maria Paulsen and husband Daniel, John Gomes and wife Colleen, Robert Brown Jr. and wife Lauren and Katie Brown and six very special great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anebel and Mary Perry, sisters Dorothy Bezerra and Mary Ramos and brother Edward Perry.

Rosary followed by Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Visalia. Burial will follow at Tulare Public Cemetery, 900 E. Kern Street in Tulare.
Remembrances may be made to Kaweah Delta Hospice or St. Charles Building Fund in Lillian’s name.
