Margaret was a lifelong resident of Visalia. Born July 29, 1928 to Efrocino and Francisca Alvarez Juarez. After the death of her mother, she was raised by her grandparents Jose and Francisca Mora. She completed her education in the 8th grade, then worked mostly in the packing houses in Visalia and surrounding towns until she married her very handsome and charming sweetheart, Adolph Esquivel Nava on April 10,1949. The two had lived around the corner from each all their lives until the day they were wed. They remained married nearly fifty years until his death in 1999.
Her greatest desire growing up was to have a home and family of her own. She was a proud homemaker and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones, sewing and spending time at home with her family. She also enjoyed listening to Mariachi music, and chatting on the phone and at the fence with all of her friends and "comadres". Later in life, she simply enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching all the action on Sweet Street. Most of all, she cherished the time she had with her children and more so with her "treasures", her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her one son and daughter-in-law: Dr Adolph J. Nava and Trini A. Nava; and her two daughters and son-in-laws: Sylvia N. and David Kennedy and Frances N. and Howard Lew; and her grandchildren: Jennifer Rivera, Daniel and Joseph Nava, Adolfo, Edward and Victor Nava and Richard and Vida Lew; and her great grandchildren: Gabriel Rios and Siana and Faith Tobias. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ernesto and Daniel Juarez; her son Daniel J. Nava and daughter Margaret N. Rivera.
