Mike Estrada, loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with his Lord on July 19th, 2014 after a three month battle in recovery leading up to and following a heart transplant. Mike was born in San Francisco on October 31st, 1950 to Ben and Anita Estrada of the famed Estrada's Spanish Kitchen. He was very proud of his heritage belonging to one of Visalia's earliest families. He graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1967 and attended the College of the Sequoias. After college, Mike opened up a Bar and Pool Hall in Tulare during the 70's. He later went on to work for Sasco Electric, installing street lights in the Kings, Tulare, and L.A. county area until his retirement in 2007. Chances are that he most likely installed the lamp on your street. If you were lucky enough to know Mike, you had a friend for life, a man of his word, a kind soul, and someone who was always the life of the party. Anyone that knew Mike knew that he loved sports and enjoyed rooting for the San Francisco 49'ers and the San Francisco Giants. He was a very honest man that knew the value of hard work and always lived by the Golden Rule. He not only brought light into this world physically with his work, but also by showing kindness and love to all that knew him. He had a special gift of putting people at ease and bringing out the best in them. He was especially close to his Brother Dennis Estrada who passed just a few months prior. Mike was survived by his wife Laura Estrada, sons Hayden Estrada and Robert Cabasa and wife Nora Cabasa, daughter Melissa Cabasa, and his grandchildren Jezraiah, Kiana, Micaiah, and Alivya Cabasa, and Elijah and Malia Satcher, in addition to his sister-in-law Gloria Estrada, niece Monday Clements and her children, and nephew Vincent Estrada and wife Dee Dee.
