Norma Lee Haire, a longtime resident of Visalia, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in Visalia, California. Norma was the first of four children born to Henry and Eula Reed on June 12, 1921 in Harmon County, Oklahoma. She grew up on the family farm which was outside of Hollis, Oklahoma. The family moved to California in 1944.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herschel Weldon (who died in 1950) and husband, James Haire (who died in 2013), siblings George Reed, James Reed, and Mary Thrash and grandson Jerry Anders.
She is survived by children, Gary Weldon and Brenda Anders; grandchildren, Sandra Henriksen, Dan Weldon and Ben Weldon. She leaves behind 9 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends. As a family, we are left with many memories to love and cherish.
Her home was always open to anyone to visit and enjoyed a good meal. Her passing has left a void in our lives, but thoughts of times together and her friendly wise words will live with us for generations.
Norma spent her life serving the Lord. She was a member at West Visalia Church of Christ, where you could find her sitting up front at every service, singing and listening to God’s word. She was a woman of strong faith who believed in the beauty and peace from God that would await her after her passing.
The family extends their sincere thanks and deep gratitude for all expressions and acts of kindness shown during her stay at Westgate Care Center, and at this this sad time.
Funeral services will be held at Visalia Public Cemetery Pavilion on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11 a.m.
