After my mom passed away, i kept telling myself that I would figure out what to say to my Grandpa Higg and Grandma, and my aunt and my uncle. 
Somehow I could never figure out where to begin.  I’m sorry, Grandpa, that I never reached out in time, I’ll always miss your corny puns, and I’ll never see a classic musical that doesn’t remind me of you(my favorite is The Music Man). Thank you for our games of catch on Thanksgiving. Love you  always, Grandpa. - Zachary

I am so sorry to hear about this.  I was searching for him to see if AI could get in touch.  I loved Mr. Higginbotham so much.  Over 30 years later and he is still my all time favorite teacher.  He always made me feel smart.  No teacher before or after did that for me.  RIP. Mr. H. You were the best!!!

I remember how soft-spoken, kind, and generous he was as a teacher. So funny. I remember giving him a mug at the end of my 8th grade year with a cow on it with the phrase "Outstanding in the field".  That's the kind of teacher he was. Mr. H, You will always be remembered by each student who was fortunate enough to know you.  Thank you for your part in my life.

Mr. Higginbotham was and will always be my favorite teacher, may you rest in peace and God bless you for being a great person in my life.

I have very fond memories of Mr. Higginbotham from my time spent at Green Acres Junior High School. He was a wonderful coach and a wonderful person - serious, but with a sense of humor. He will be missed by many.

Mr. Higginbothham was one of the finest teachers I've ever had. He cared about his students and demanded nothing but the best out of you. He was also an outstanding coach and senior athlete, winner of many medals in the track and field Senior Olympics. I often would see him jumping the high hurdles at the COS track well into his 60's. He was the biggest reason I majored in history in college. Rest in Peace my friend! Many thanks.

I met Mr. Higginbotham at COS played tennis with back in 1976. Very nice man who was nice to me and a great family man. I never had him as a teacher but like his students, family and friends they will miss a wonderful and caring man.

I remember him as a strong man with a huge intellect and a huge heart. The world is a little bit colder without his like in it. Condolences to his family.

Sad to hear of such a great teachers passing.  He was an inspiration to all.

Very much saddened to hear .you were a amazing teacher and friend you help me everyday challenged me to strive to do better . Mr. Higginbotham was a fabulous teacher who challenged me every day. He helped shape me into the teacher I am. He will be missed

Mr. Higginbotham was always a ray of sunshine!  Every time we would see him about town, he would remember my name and my brothers' as well!  He always asked about our lives and was proud of our accomplishments. One of my favorite memories of him was watching him play Daddy Warbucks in the Green Acres play, "Annie"! He was inspiring and truly showed his personality.  I remember being a little nervous having Mr. Higginbotham as a History teacher, but that went away after hearing his lectures and feeling his concern for all students.  He wanted us all to do well.  I wanted to do well for him!  I am sure he is smiling now realizing what an impact and mentor he was for us all!

Mr. Higginbotham was one of my teachers and coach at Green Acres Middle School. He was an excellent teacher, coach, father and overall human being. Mr. Higginbotham always had a smile on his face and words of encouragement were abundant. He was a great mentor, as well. Throughout the years, whenever we'd run into one another, he remembered my name and we shared some wonderful stories of our beloved G A! My condolences to the family and may God's love and holy spirit comfort his loved ones through this time of loss. He leaves a legacy of being a wonderful teacher, but also, as Andy Harrell stated, an exceptional athlete. Rest in Peace, Bob.

Bob was one of my Green Acres teachings back in 1957.  I loved his classes, humor and enthusiasm.  The obit doesn't mention that he was a great competitor in master's-level track.  I remember seeing him a few years ago in Visalia, and he still looked in good enough shape to kick my butt.

You were an amazing teacher,person and mentor.You will be sorely missed sir,Glad I got to catch up with you last year at Casa Grande .

You were a Great PE teacher/ Coach and Roll Model. You were one of the reasons I taught Middle School PE for 37 years. Your influence touched a lot of us. I was so happy to get to Work with you and tell you of your influence after I started Teaching. Your Drive and many activities Molded a lot us in Visalia. Hope your running and jumping in Heaven. Thank You Bob for all you did.
