Ronald Mangine, age 78, was born in Visalia, CA on October 15, 1939 to parents Buster and Marguerite Mangine. He passed away in Visalia, CA, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Ron grew up in Exeter CA, and graduated from Exeter High School in 1957. He attended San Francisco State University, where he met his future wife Lorie. The couple married in Carmel, CA in February 1961. Ron and Lorie spent time in Hawaii, the Philippines, Japan, and Rhode Island in the early 1960s as a result of Ron's service in the US Navy. While stationed in Sacramento, CA Ron and Lorie had their first child, David. Jennie, Ron and Lorie’s second child was born in Visalia, CA in 1971. Ron had a long career in the farm irrigation business, working at first with his father at the Visalia Concrete Pipe Company, and then at his own business Mangine Irrigation. Chances are pretty good that the plum you ate at lunch, or the corn you ate with dinner, or the grapes snacked on recently were watered by one of Ron’s irrigation systems. He was a fisherman, a wine maker, a captain of industry, a loving father, and a grandfather of Jack, Grace, Luke, and Sam. His love for golf, the San Francisco 49ers and Giants baseball was unparalleled. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving, compassionate, and thoughtful man. He took care of his family and his community. He will be missed, but he will forever be in our hearts.
