Rosie C. Childs Hales

Rosie was born in Belzoni, Mississippi on August 20, 1939 to Luther and Dovie Childs. She was raised and educated in Mississippi. In 1957 Rosie married Bobby Joe Hales in Belzoni, Mississippi. 1959 brought Rosie and Bob to Visalia, California to make their home and raise their two daughters, Robyn and Jo. Beginning in 1960 Rosie began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Kaweah Delta District Hospital. In 1972 she received her Nursing Credentials from Hanford Adult School as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She continued to work at Kaweah Delta Hospital, retiring in 1999. After retirement Rosie traveled the United States with Bob in his truck. Rosie enjoyed yard sales, traveling, sewing and quilting, gardening and cooking. She especially enjoyed the holidays and invited family and friends for a time of sharing and good food. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Dovie, her daughter, Robyn Gall on November 26, 1999 and by her brother, Jesse James Childs in the 1980’s.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Bob; her daughter, Jo; two sisters, Joyce Sossman and Barbara Weatherford; two grandchildren, Brittany Gall and J.R. Scambler and one great grandchild, Trinity Scambler; her extended family and many friends.

Family memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Bob and Rosie’s home in Visalia.
