Teresa Jimenez Huerta

Teresa Jimenez Huerta, baptized “Teresita del Nino Jesus”, was born on October 27, 1927 in La Pieda, Michoacan, Mexico to Jose Navarro Jimenez and Manuela Jimenez Ramirez. She went to meet the Lord surrounded by her loving family on May 12, 2025 in Visalia, California.

Teresa married the love of her life Jose Solis Huerta on December 14, 1950 in Mexico City, Mexico. They had four children, Hector, Luis, Teresa and Phillip Huerta. They emigrated from Mexico to the US with a Permanent Resident Status in 1953. She followed her husband Jose and their young family to live in Chicago, where Jose’s brother Hilario was living at the time.

The family moved from Chicago to Visalia in 1959. In June 1960 Jose and Teresa purchased a new home in development that would come to be known as “Birdland”. The Huerta Family lived and prospered in their home on Dove Drive. Teresa lived on Dove Drive and received loving care from caregivers Luz, Silvia and Lorena.

Teresa is preceded in death by her husband Jose Huerta who passed on January 24, 2017, her parents and eleven siblings. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Hector (Sandy) Huerta of Clovis, son Luis (Rosa) Huerta of Visalia, daughter Teresa M. Huerta of Clovis and son Phillip (Maria) Huerta of Fresno. Her grandchildren, Adam and wife Heather Huerta, Stephen and wife Jennifer Huerta, Alejandra and husband Jeff Duncan, Gabriel and wife Lorna Huerta, Matthew and wife Diana Huerta, Nicholas Huerta, and Sarah and husband Ephraim Duran, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for Teresa will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel 1120 West Goshen Avenue, Visalia, California on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 23, at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church 1908 North Court Street, Visalia, CA 93291.
