Veronica Flores

this life unexpectedly on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Kaweah Delta Hospital due to a tragic accident.

Veronica was the eldest of four children in the Flores family. She attended Richgrove Elementary School

until eighth grade and graduated from Delano Joint Union High School in 2000.

She later married and gave birth to her only son, Demetris Thomas Russell, on September 5, 2001.

Veronica’s love for her son was boundless, and she dedicated her life to providing him with warmth, care,

and unwavering support.

Veronica worked in retail for several years before pursuing her true passion. She attended the Institute of

Technology and earned her associate degree as a chef. Her culinary dreams were vivid and ambitious—she

longed to open her own pastry business, which she planned to call “The Sugar Shack.

” Baking was her joy,

and she shared her talents generously with those around her, especially her beloved nephews and niece.

Affectionately known as “Bambam” by her nephew Jaden and “Vero” by her younger nephews, Veronica

will be remembered for her caring and giving nature. She was a woman of deep empathy, always willing to

help others, even when she had little to give. Her kindness and warmth left lasting impressions on everyone

fortunate enough to know her.

Veronica is survived by her cherished son, Demetris Thomas Russell; her parents, Javier and Patricia Flores;

her sister, Jennifer Ramirez, and brother-in-law, David Ramirez; her brothers, Xavier Flores and Javier

Flores, and sister-in-law, Yazmin Flores; her nephews, Jaden Hernandez and Josiah Sanchez; her niece,

Emma Sanchez; her grandmothers, Paula Ramirez and Lydia Flores; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Enemencio Flores, and her maternal grandfather,

Timoteo C. Ramirez.

Though her time with us was far too brief, Veronica’s memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who

loved her. Her kindness, her dream of sharing sweetness with the world through her baking, and her love for

her family will live on forever
