LEXINGTON – Caroline D. McNair, 82, of Lexington, SC died Saturday, January 21, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, with Dr. James Glatz of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the funeral home.
Born in Union Bridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Steiner Engelbrecht and Ruth Anna Hyser. She recently retired after 46 years working as a Realtor. She was a member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church in Lexington, SC and a previous long-term member of Congaree Presbyterian Church in Cayce, SC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F. B. (Hank) McNair I and her son, William J. (Billy) Dowell. She is survived by sons, Robert E. Dowell (Lisa) and F. B. (Hank) McNair II (Deborah); grandchildren, Matthew Dowell (Kirsten), Heather Davis (Seth) and David Austin (Sarah); and great-grandchildren, Dakota, Jaxon, Gladys, Gavin, Joshua, Jeremiah and Joseph.
