LEXINGTON – Evelyn Louise Johnson Skinner, 90, wife of the late James H. Skinner, Sr. was born March 7, 1924 in Spartanburg and passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at NHC Healthcare, West Columbia, SC.
She was a daughter of the late George A. Johnson, Sr. and Emma Wright Johnson. She retired from JB White’s Department Store and was a member of Congaree Baptist Church. She made many quilts for family and friends over the years and Boys Farm in Newberry.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Stork (Fritz) of Jupiter, Florida and Rosemary Elizabeth Fansher of Deltona, Florida and one son, James H. Skinner, Jr. (Cheryle) of Lexington, SC; also a brother, Rev. James Johnson of Boiling Springs. She had 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Skinner was predeceased by 3 sisters and 1 brother.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
