Freeman E. Huskey, Jr., a beloved, faithful, generous, gentle, kind-hearted, and loyal individual, passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on May 10, 1950, in Columbia, South Carolina, Freeman grew up in West Columbia, SC. He attended Brookland-Cayce High School and was the youngest and only boy among five children. Freeman was a proud graduate of Clemson University.
Freeman had a distinguished career as an optometrist. He was married to Dr. Lana Cromeenes, and together they shared a happy marriage. He was a proud grandfather to Sion and Inara.
In his personal life, Freeman enjoyed bowling, yard work, and was proficient in American Sign Language (ASL). He was actively involved in the deaf community, demonstrating his commitment and support.
A visitation will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, located at 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170, on December 20, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170, following the service.

Freeman's life was guided by his personal philosophy: "Life has many choices, choose wisely and live faithfully." He found comfort in Psalm 30:5, "Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning."
