LEXINGTON - Gary Lewis Oxley, 74, of Lexington, SC passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his residence. Born in Meigs Co., Ohio he was the son of the late Lawrence and Lula Oxley.
He is survived by wife, Marvena; daughters, Kelly (Brent) Brock and Shannon (Ben) Amick of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Jessica and Melissa Amick, Garrett Brock and step-grandchildren, Kristina, Brent Jr., and Colton Brock; siblings, Larry (Wanda) Oxley of Johnstown, OH, Daniel (Verna) Oxley of Pataskala, OH, Karen (Rubin) Amos and David Oxley of Columbus, OH, Dale (Debbie) Oxley of Pataskala, OH and Dorothy (James) Davis of Grove City, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Lawrence.
Gary was a Master Mason member of Earlewood Lodge No. 371 A.F.M. and 32nd Degree member of Scottish rite at Valley of Aiken and Valley of Columbia, SC. He retired as SCPO of the Naval Submarine Service. He was in the Savannah River Bluegrass Band.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home, with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens.
