WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Sgt. Major Grady E. Hyman, 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home West Columbia Chapel with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Grady was born September 23, 1928 in Swansea, SC and passed away Friday, June 5, 2015. He was the son of the late, Barney Hyman and Eula Williamson Hyman. He was a member of the VFW Post 641 in Columbia, SC., American Legion Post 0090 of Congaree, SC and the 360th Civil Affairs Brigade. He retired from the United States Army with Military Honors.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Rucker (William, Jr.) and two grandchildren, Katarina and Kristopher Rucker all of St. Matthews, SC. Mr. Hyman is predeceased by his loving wife, Doris Gates Hyman.
