WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Heyward Alvin Seay, 79, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with entombment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Tom Parler, Buck Rich, Nick Stabler, Randy Stabler, J. M. Boone and Richard Gerald. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Seay was born on July 26, 1934 in West Columbia, SC and passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013. He was a son of the late Henry Melvin Seay and Kellie Belle Fulmer Seay. Mr. Seay was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of BC High School and served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He retired from the University of South Carolina.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Seay; children, Rickey Seay, Lynn Seay, Kenny Seay and Michelle Seay Schuler; brothers, Russell Seay, Carlisle Seay; sisters, Elsie Adams, Sadie Richards and Gayle Thompson; grandchildren, Kelly Seay, Brandi Seay, Jake Seay, Terry Seay, Cole Schuler, Dylan Schuler and 1 great-grandson. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Herman Seay.
