Kevin Michael Currie, 51, of Pine Ridge, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022. Born in Columbia to the late Ken and Margaret Hutto Currie, Kevin was raised in the West Columbia area. He played multiple sports as a youth and young man and excelled in them all. Kevin graduated from Brookland Cayce High School in 1988. Kevin enjoyed playing golf, bowling, umpiring adult league softball, refereeing for high school football, cutting grass, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Kevin was an avid supporter of high school athletics, especially Hammond School and Airport High School. He was employed by American Tool and Die of Swansea and was an avid South Carolina Gamecocks fan. Kevin was an easy going, hardworking, loving man, and his good nature will be absolutely missed by many.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Angela Currie. He is also survived by his sons, Brandon Currie, Bryan Abbott, and Chad Dulinsky; brother, Ken (Tammy) Currie; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Amelia Price; brother and sister-in-law, Wally and Lindsey Price; loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many special friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 9 at 4:00 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. The family encourages you to mingle and celebrate Kevin’s life in the chapel following the ceremony. Please dress casually.
The family would like to thank Kevin’s work family at American Tool and Die, Lexington County EMS, Lexington Medical Center, and special family members and friends who helped Kevin during his last moments on Monday and who have selflessly supported the family in the difficult time since.
