Stephen Henry Wood

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Henry Wood, born on February 21, 1960, in Montour Falls, NY, and passed away on April 3, 2026. Stephen was a man of great intellect and strength, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Stephen held a Master's degree in philosophy and dedicated much of his professional career to TD Bank, where he served as a well-respected VP Operations Manager II before retiring. His work ethic and leadership were exemplary, earning him the admiration and respect of his colleagues and peers.

Outside of his professional life, Stephen found joy in family vacations, casino trips, and indulging in his favorite vices of bourbon, Budweiser, and Marlboro's. He was known for his straightforward nature and his ability to explain any concept using philosophical references.

Stephen was a devoted family man and treated those close to him as if they were his own kin. He made a lasting impact on former coworkers, friends, and family members, always offering a helping hand without hesitation.

Stephen is survived by his siblings Daniel (Karen-Deceased) Wood, David (Cheryl) Wood, Susan (Steve) Wright, and Amanda (Marty) Brown.

He is also survived by his stepchildren James (Celia) Whitehead Sr., Anthony Whitehead, Candy (Jeff) Skyles, and Litcha London, whom he considered a daughter in life. His stepgrandchildren Christopher, Alexander, James Jr., Sara, Brenda, Alicia, Joeretta, Ariel, and Madison, as well as his great stepgrandchildren Emmett and Jazmine, Emylie & Cecilia, will dearly miss him.

Stephen was preceded in death by his spouse, Deborah E. Wood, his parents Edgar C. and Patricia Eldridge Wood. While he may no longer be with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched with his wisdom, humor, and generosity. Rest in peace, Stephen Henry Wood.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
